arts, culture, history,

Hollywood traveled to West Chester in 2007 to make a movie.

The film is called Our Lady of Victory and chronicles the true Cinderella story of the 1972 women’s basketball team from Immaculata University. That particular team, nicknamed the Mighty Macs, captured the first-ever national championship in women’s basketball.

The film stars Ellen Burstyn as Mother Superior, Carla Gugino as head coach Cathy Rush and Marley Shelton as assistant coach Sister Sunday. The plot focuses on the accomplishments of Coach Rush, who took a group of girls and taught them to believe in themselves.
